Jazz Band is an opportunity for Redwood musicians to play in a jazz band and begin learning jazz improvisation. The Redwood Jazz Band meets after school on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 in the Band Room (room 25)

Musicians must be able to read music and have a least 1 year of experience playing their instrument and be enrolled in performance group @ Redwood Middle School. (Band, Orchestra or Chorus)

September 28, 2017 - December 21, 2017 (1st session)

-Open to all band instruments (Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano)
 
January 11, 2018 - April 26 2018  (2nd session)
-Traditional Jazz Band Instruments by Audition (Saxophones, Trumpets, Trombones, Piano, Guitar, Bass, Drums)

3:30-4:30 on Thursdays in Room 25 (RMS Bandroom)

Fee: $165.00 a semester payable to Janine Delwarte

Janine Delwarte has earned her  B.A. at  California State University, Northridge and her M.A. at California Institute of the Arts, both degrees are in music education and performance.

Janine is the director of “The Conejo Valley Summer Music  Camp” and the “Elementary Instrumental Music Coordinator” for the district. She has performed throughout the world as a professional musician in all styles of music.

Miss Janine brings a broad musical perspective to her students.
